1. Choose the program at your Finnish University
Finland has tons of different study degree programs in several fields. The first thing you must do is choose the right program for yourself. 2. Read the admission requirements
One of the most important steps is to read all the admission requirements. The requirements can vary depending on which university and study program you want to apply to. There are also differences when it comes to applying to bachelor’s or master’s degrees.
For bachelor’s degrees, the general requirements include the following:
- Copy of your final/official higher secondary school certificate or vocational qualification which gives eligibility for higher education studies in your own country
- Transcript of your academic records (usually a minimum GPA of 50% or above is required)
- Grading scale in English
- Copy of your passport ID page
Depending on the study program, some of the following can also be required:
- English language certificate or test (IELTS, TOEFL iBT or equivalent)
- Online exam and/or interview
- SAT score
- Motivation video or letter
The admission requirements for master’s degrees are generally the following:
- Copy of your bachelor’s degree certificate or other higher education degree from a related field
- Transcript of academic records (minimum GPA requirement depends on the university) Remember to check from the university’s page!
- Copy of your passport ID page
- Employment certificate with a minimum of 2 years of work experience after your bachelor’s degree
Depending on your chosen university and study program, the following might also be required:
- Online interview
- English language test (usually a minimum IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 70-80 or equivalent is required) !Remember to check from the university’s page!
- GMAT/GRE score
- Motivational letter and video
NB! No matter what study program you apply to, all documents must be officially translated to either English, Finnish or Swedish.
3. Understand the admission requirements
After you have read through all the requirements for your chosen study program, it’s time to think. Do I really understand what is needed? Do I want to study this program? Have I already got all the required documents? What is it that I still need?

5. Prepare all of your documents
To make sure you have the smoothest possible application process, it is very important to prepare all of your documents beforehand. First and foremost, you need to scan your documents. When you apply through Edunation, you are required to submit all of your documents online. This ensures your application will be submitted before the application deadline closes. Your application also will not get delayed by the university, since there is no need to ask for missing documents.
Having your documents ready will also make you feel calmer and better in the process, because you won’t have to stress about missing the deadline for submitting them!
6. Apply through Edunation
After you have completed the previous steps, you are ready to start your application with Edunation. On our website, there is an APPLY NOW button. By clicking there, you are able to find all of the study programs. Choose your desired study program and you are able to access the application form.
Fill out the application form carefully and include all of the required documents. It is also important that you click YES for consent to electronic communication. This allows the university to send you updates about your admission later on.
7. Pay the service fee
Before you can submit your application to Edunation, you are asked to pay a service fee of 100 EUR. Edunation can only process your application if the service fee is paid. If you do not pay the service fee, Edunation cannot process your application.
8. Choose to apply with Pathway Diploma program
If you wish to get admitted to a Finnish University by an alternative way, the Pathway Diploma program is your answer!
The Pathway Diploma program is a preparatory program for international students. It is aimed at those students who wish to study abroad in Europe, but don’t yet meet the requirements for university admission.
By completing the Pathway Diploma program successfully, you get guaranteed entry into the university of your choice! This program gives you eligibility to start first-year degree studies at one of our partner universities. How amazing is that!
