Applying to a university can be very exciting. We have many international students who apply to Finnish universities every year. However, things don’t always go as planned. You might get accepted or rejected from a certain university. At this point, you may be wondering what to do next?
In this case, you should not worry! Luckily, we have different solutions to offer to you. In this blog post, we will introduce the options available, if the doors to the university don’t open to you the first time. The important thing is to not give up! There are always different options to explore.
We have gathered some interesting options for you that you should consider and explore. Below you can find some options that you can explore if you get rejected:
aPPLY TO DIFFERENT PROGRAMS or universities
It is always good to have a backup plan. When applying with Edunation, you can apply to up to 5 study programs. If you want to increase your chances of getting accepted, we recommend you to apply to different universities. At the moment, we have 11 partner universities in Finland.
If you apply only to a few universities and are waiting for admission results, you can apply to other universities. Our partner universities have different admissions requirements and student selection processes. Therefore, if you get rejected from one university, there is always the chance that you might get accepted to another!
Pathway FOR BACHELOR STUDIES
Edunation’s Pathway Diploma is the fastest and the most affordable way to reach your dream of studying in Finland! It is an online preparatory course, that will improve your academic skills, to the level that you will get accepted. You can complete the course in one semester, 15 weeks. Our program guarantees you a study place at a Finnish university. No entrance exam or IELTS needed! After completing the Pathway Diploma, you will be eligible to progress directly to degree studies in your chosen bachelor’s degree program. You can choose to study for instance Nursing, Business, Tourism, Sports or Engineering & Technology. To give an example, if you are not accepted to a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing to SAMK, you can get guaranteed access to the program through our pathway diploma!

LUT MIBE PATHWAY FOR MASTER STUDIES
In collaboration with Edunation, LUT University is offering a unique and exciting LUT MIBE Pathway program for all students who are interested to get guaranteed admission to the Master’s degree program in International Business and Entrepreneurship.
The program will be conducted online, and you will get familiar with topics like economic science, business growth and global marketing. After completing the program, you will join the Master’s degree program in International Business and Entrepreneurship. By applying through LUT MIBE Pathway, you are NOT required to submit GMAT/GRE or participate to any online interviews with the university.
Application period is open for the September 2021 intake! The course leads to university studies starting inJanuary 2022. We have made applying easy and simple for you! Students are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. You can apply here.
APPLY FOR THE NEXT INTAKE OR YEAR
Another option is to apply for the next intake or year. We have several intakes during the year. For most of our partner universities, the application period is from January – April. However, this depends on the university. You can always check the application periods on our website university pages.
Therefore, if you don’t get accepted this year, you can try next year. Meanwhile, you can study Finnish for example in Duolingo, work to save money, improve your academic skills or travel. It is never too late to study and experience the best higher education system in the world, in Finland!
