Application Guidelines

  • Begin by clicking the “APPLY NOW” button below to access the application form.
  • Fill out the application form completely.
  • Complete the diagnostic exam and schedule an interview with the ESL teacher, both of which are accessible within the application form.
  • Ensure all sections of the application form are submitted by clicking the submission button.
  • Following your scheduled online interview, you will receive your evaluation results via email within 24 hours.
  • If you pass both the diagnostic exam and interview, you will be invoiced for the program fee, which is 250 EURO for Pathway students and 350 EURO for non-Pathway students.
  • For Pathway students, once payment is completed, the English Express Program will send you the Acceptance Letter, confirming your enrollment. Upon receiving this letter, kindly email a copy to the Pathway Program.

Lastly, to be admitted to the English Express Program, the applicant must have the score of: 

For Pathway Students:

  • Kajaani UAS and Karelia UAS Pathway progression: diagnostic exam results are equivalent to at least IELTS 4.5.

For Non-Pathway Students:

  • Diagnostic exam results are equivalent to IELTS 5.0.

In this curriculum, students are presented with a variety of activities designed to develop their macro skills. These activities are both guided practices in groups and individual activities that will strengthen their understanding of the language. Moreover, this will be an avenue for students to be confident in using the language. Take note that it doesn’t drown students in a sea of generalized content but rather identifies and targets specific weaknesses and challenges, providing tailored support and guidance to overcome them.

Beyond the classroom, the English Express Program recognizes the importance of real-world application. Hence, it integrates practical exercises, authentic materials, and opportunities for real-time communication, ensuring that skills acquired within the program are immediately transferrable to everyday contexts.

The course objectives of the English Express program for their learners/students are: 

  1. Enhance Language Proficiency: Elevate students’ overall English language proficiency from intermediate levels (4.5-5.5 IELTS) to advanced levels (6.0-7.0 IELTS) across reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. 
  2. Improve Linguistic Fluency: Develop fluency and spontaneity in oral and written communication to enable students to express themselves confidently and effectively in various contexts. 
  3. Strengthen Reading Comprehension: Improve students’ ability to comprehend and analyze complex texts, including academic, literary, and professional materials, enhancing their reading speed and comprehension strategies. 
  4. Refine Writing Skills: Hone students’ writing skills to produce well-structured, coherent, and persuasive written texts, including essays, reports, and formal correspondence, while focusing on grammar, vocabulary, and organization. 
  5. Foster Effective Speaking Skills: Cultivate students’ speaking abilities through extensive practice in formal and informal settings, including presentations, debates, discussions, and everyday conversations, emphasizing clarity, coherence, and pronunciation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

For PATHWAY AND NON-PATHWAY STUDENT APPLICANTS

We offer 5 – 6 intakes throughout the year, providing flexibility for your schedule.

Each intake spans eight weeks, offering a focused and immersive learning experience.  

The English Express Program is meticulously designed to facilitate the transition of students from intermediate to advanced levels of English proficiency (ranging from 5.0 – 5.5 IELTS, potentially extending to 6.0 – 7.0 IELTS). The program offers a structured curriculum, interactive learning experiences, and a concentrated approach to skill enhancement.

The class schedule is as follows:  

8 Weeks (4 weeks for reading and writing and 4 weeks for listening and speaking. 

Online sessions are 3 times per week; Monday, Wednesday and Friday 

For PATHWAY STUDENT APPLICANTS

The course fee for Pathway students is 250 euro.  

Admission Requirements for Pathway students  

  • Kajaani UAS and Karelia UAS Pathway progression – diagnostic exam result equivalent to at least IELTS 4.5.  
  • Satakunta UAS Engineering track Pathway progression – diagnostic exam result equivalent to at least IELTS 5.0.  
  • Online interview  
  • Program fee: 250 EUR  

Pathway students may apply to the following UAS with English Express acceptance letter and certificate: 

  • Kajaani UAS and Karelia UAS Pathway progression: diagnostic exam results are equivalent to at least IELTS 4.5. 
  • Satakunta UAS Engineering track Pathway progression: diagnostic exam results are equivalent to at least IELTS 5.0. 

Note that you must be able to pass the program and reach the required equivalent IELTS score for each UAS (IELTS 5.0 for Kajaani UAS and Karelia UAS / IELTS 5.5 for Satakunta UAS) in order to proceed with your progression. Otherwise, you will be asked to submit an English language certificate by the Pathway team. 

The English Express Program involves 81 hours of learning over eight weeks. This includes a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning activities, with two hours of live classes and three hours of offline activities per day. 

For NON-PATHWAY STUDENT APPLICANTS

The course fee for Non-Pathway Students is 350 euro.
