Netflix & Chill? More Like Learn & Skill!

But do you think learning English has to be boring? Think again. Grab the popcorn, get comfy on the couch, and get ready to transform your Netflix & Chill time into an English-boosting adventure!

You may believe it or not, but watching your favorite movies and TV shows can be a secret weapon for language learning. It’s like having a front-row seat to real-life conversations, slang, and cultural references.

But hold on, not all shows are created equal, though. When you are just starting out, it’s important to choose shows and movies that are easy to understand.

You can look for ones with simple language, clear pronunciation, and maybe with subtitles in your own language.

Let’s Keep the Momentum Going and take some challenge!

Learning doesn’t stop when class ends! Here are some simple ways to keep improving your English:

Read

Challenge: Grab a copy of J.K. Rowling’s “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” Search for the word “spell” and see how many times it appears. Then, find one spell that interests you and look up its meaning and how it’s used in the story. Can you use it in a sentence?

Listen

Challenge: Put on your favorite song in English. Listen closely and try to write down all the words you understand. Don’t worry about getting every word – just focus on what you catch.

Speak

Challenge: Stand in front of a mirror and pretend you’re ordering food at a restaurant. Practice saying, “Hello, I’d like…” and name your favorite dish. Bonus points if you try asking for a recommendation!

Write

Challenge: Write a short email (or even a text message) to a friend in English, telling them about your day. Keep it simple – even a few sentences is a great start!
