Our Finnish A2.1–B1.1 – Preparation for the YKI Test course is designed for learners preparing for Finland’s Yleinen kielitutkinto (YKI), the National Certificate of Language Proficiency.
What You Will Learn
The course develops all four language skills—listening, reading, writing, and speaking—with a strong focus on practical communication and YKI-style tasks. Learners practice Finnish for everyday life, work, and social situations while strengthening grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
YKI Test Practice and Feedback
Participants become familiar with the YKI test format through guided exercises, sample tasks, and timed practice. Regular feedback helps learners improve their performance, especially in speaking and writing, which are key components of the exam.
Who Is This Course For?
This course is suitable for learners planning to take the YKI Basic (A2) or Intermediate (B1) level test, including those aiming for Finnish citizenship, employment, or further studies in Finland.
Course Format and Schedule
Classes are held online via Zoom, twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, totaling four hours per week over six months. Learning materials are provided through a digital learning platform and by the teacher. While the target level is B1.1, progress depends on individual motivation, with continuous support from the Edunation team.
