The program aims to develop a strong foundation in international business theory and practice while preparing students for professional and academic progression. It focuses on building a detailed understanding of global business environments, including cultural, economic, legal, political, ethical, and financial dimensions.
Students are trained to develop professional business skills in areas such as accounting, finance, marketing, economics, management, statistics, research, and strategy. The program also emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, leadership, and the ability to analyze and interpret business data.
A key goal is to prepare students to operate effectively in international contexts, make informed decisions, and respond creatively to complex business challenges. Ethical awareness, research capability, and independent learning—especially through practical experience—are also central to the program’s outcomes.
The program runs over three academic years, with students typically completing ten modules per year.
In the first year, students are introduced to core business foundations such as management, economics, accounting, marketing, business computing, law, and statistics. The second year builds on this foundation with more specialized subjects including corporate finance, international marketing, international law, economics, e-commerce, business research methods, and sustainable business practices.
The third year focuses on advanced international business topics such as international finance, HRM, entrepreneurship, investment strategies, operations management, and strategic systems. Students also complete a research project and study contemporary global challenges and business ethics.
In the final stage of the program, students undertake either an eight-week internship with a multinational company or a research project alternative. This allows them to apply academic learning in a real-world professional environment and gain valuable industry experience.
Graduates of the program have a range of academic and professional pathways available to them. They may progress to an additional year of study to complete a four-year Bachelor of Arts in International Business, or pursue postgraduate study such as a Master of Business in International Business or an MBA. They may also continue into master’s or professional programs at other institutions. Those who choose to pursue professional accounting qualifications may receive exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
The program also prepares graduates for a variety of entry-level roles in international business environments. These may include positions such as international business analyst, marketing executive, financial analyst, or management trainee in multinational companies.
In addition, the program equips students with transferable skills such as analytical thinking, communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving, enabling them to work across a wide range of international business environments.
