As a graduated engineer you have a broad technological knowledge and understanding of the field of Information Technology and core engineering subjects.

You will also gain knowledge in mathematics and natural sciences that is needed in your future career. You will be able to communicate both orally and in writing in engineering surroundings.

You will learn the basics in engineering subjects such as mathematics and physics. Professional studies will strengthen your engineering skills in addition to languages and communication skills and business courses that will top-up your competence.

You will be linked to working-life throughout your studies via industry-related projects, work placement periods, and a Final Year Project. This gives you a chance to create useful networks and plan your future career while studying.

Let’s talk about Software Engineering

This program equips you with the skills and knowledge for a career in software engineering. Alongside technical training, you’ll develop teamwork, communication, and user experience design skills.

Metropolia, UAS uses modern tools and frameworks, emphasizing hands-on learning with extensive coding. Each semester includes a major project course, enabling you to build portfolio-worthy applications that boost job prospects before graduation.

Graduates of this program typically become software engineers, mobile web developers, full-stack developers, or iOS and Android developers.

• Machine Learning.  Machine learning major prepares you to develop AI-powered software solutions. You’ll master data manipulation and analysis while learning to integrate various machine-learning libraries, tools, and methods into your projects.
• Mobile Development. The Mobile Development major enhances your skills in building applications for leading mobile platforms. You’ll gain expertise in software design while learning Android development with Kotlin, iOS development with Swift, and hybrid app development with React Native.

Smart IoT Systems – Internet is everywhere

The Smart IoT major explores the world of interconnected devices that collect data and drive intelligent solutions. IoT engineers develop secure, efficient, and scalable systems for smart cities, industry, and daily life.

This major equips you with the skills to design, build, and secure IoT devices and networks, preparing you to shape the future of connected technology.

• Embedded IoT Devices.  Embedded IoT Devices are smart devices with open-source operating systems that control industrial processes, collect data, and connect securely to the cloud.Students gain expertise in cloud architecture, data security, and professional embedded development through real-world projects. Graduates are prepared for careers in product R&D, technical support, or software development in ICT and IoT-focused companies.
• IoT and Networks. IoT and Networks studies cover computer network technologies, server systems, cloud services, and secure infrastructure. Hands-on training in their data communication lab, based on IP networking and mobile networks, prepares students to design, implement, and maintain secure systems.Developed with leading networking manufacturers, the program equips graduates for careers as project managers, network specialists, cloud administrators, ICT security specialists, or technical specialists.

You can have many different career and further study paths after your graduation.

Your future job may range from systems, software and hardware design to consulting, product support and management positions.

After graduation you may work for example as a software developer, a software designer or as a product manager in media and ICT-field companies, in communication and marketing companies, in software houses and digital marketing agencies or as an entrepreneur.
