Overview
The Physiotherapy degree programme in Metropolia aims to train skilled and innovative physiotherapists in a manner in which they develop their own work for the diverse and unpredicted needs of the changing society.
In the Degree Program, you will study in English in a multicultural student group. Metropolia has more than 20 years of experience in educating Health Care professionals in the English language. The multicultural and international study group will provide an enriching “cultural immersion”. Lecturers are experienced in education of different fields, possessing versatile international and multicultural expertise in Health Care.
The education will open up excellent job opportunities both in Finland and abroad. After completing the degree, you will possess a nurse’s qualification in accordance with EU directives.
The program is only available as a TOP-UP degree program.

The Physiotheraphy programme aims to train skilled and innovative physiotherapists in a manner in which they develop their own work for the diverse and unpredicted needs of the changing society.
Studies emphasise holistic learning and skills for multidisciplinary collaboration, which is based on client understanding and the active inclusion of clients. The program also challenges professionals to continuously learn and reform their operating methods.
Your studies will include theoretical teaching, various practical assignments, web-based studies, independent and group studies and various workshops. You will also carry out written assignments in each course.
The studies consist of:
- core requirement studies 28 ECTS credits
- professional studies 75 ECTS credits
- practical training 77 ECTS credits
- elective studies 15 ECTS credits
- final project 15 ECTS credits
Lectures are mainly held during the daytime. The course offering has been planned to enable students to include 30 credit points per term.
Graduates may find employment in primary and specialised health care and rehabilitation in public, private and third sector organizations or as an entrepreneur.
