Novia’s area of activity is located along the Finnish coast and the University of Applied Sciences operates in Vaasa, Turku, Raasepori, and Pietarsaari. With 4,500 students, and a workforce consisting of about 300 people, the college is the largest Swedish-speaking polytechnic in Finland. Novia has a close working relationship with the business community and an active alumni network.

    The programme is 2 years and comprises 240 ECTS.*

    The programme is meant for students who have already completed at least 2 years of university level studies in a related field (120 ECTS, for details see general eligibility). These earlier studies will be accredited and included in your degree. The studies are completed as full-time studies in Vaasa. The programme is suitable for students who would like to change the field of studies or supplement their existing university degree with a Bachelor Degree in Energy Technology.

    * Eligibility criteria: 120 ECTS of previous university level studies in the field of Energy, Electrical or Mechanical Technology.

    The structure of the studies is:

    • Previous university-level studies, 120 ECTS
    • Professional studies, 75 ECTS
    • Internship, 30 ECTS
    • Thesis, 15 ECTS

Tuition Fees & Scholarship

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees for the academic year 2022-2023 (1 August 2022 – 31 July 2023) are set per degree programme. The tuition fee for Bachelor degree programmes is 8000 euro per academic year. Full-time studies correspond to 60 ECTS/academic year. The total fee will vary according to the number of academic semesters needed to complete the studies. The studies may be completed in fewer academic semesters only in exceptional cases.

There is a scholarship system in place for students required to pay the tuition fee. Fee-paying students can apply for scholarships in the end of each academic year. The scholarship will be granted based on success in previous studies at Novia UAS.

Scholarships

Fee-paying students at Novia UAS can apply for scholarships at Novia UAS. The application for scholarships is open 1-15 May. Only current students of Novia UAS paying tuition fees are eligible to apply for the scholarships offered. The scholarships are granted retroactively based on the number of credits completed at Novia UAS. The credits must be completed at Novia UAS and be registered in the student register.  Only the completed credits will be considered, no other factors will affect the scholarship.
