SAMK’s degree program in International Business educates specialists and experts for small and medium sized companies working on the global market. The learning environment is based on the principles of problem based learning. It provides you with an inspiring and challenging way to learn by doing.
During your studies you will gain competence in international business with the focus on Marketing Logistics, Distribution Management, Business Analysis and Service Design.
You will work in international teams with your fellow students on real-life cases. Your information obtaining and communication skills will evolve a lot. You will also develop your problem-solving skills within multicultural teams and networks.
Satakunta University of Applied Sciences welcomes a lot of exchange students every year. Therefore we can guarantee internationalization at home as well as during your study or working period abroad.

The aim of this degree program is to give you business skills and professional competence within the broad scope of international business. Your studies will be based on innovative learning environments including Problem Based Learning and Coaching, meaning that you will work in international groups on real-life cases and finally present group solutions to real-life companies.
The studies are conducted in contact lessons, meaning that this degree will not be available for online or distance studies. During your studies you will apply your learning in projects for local and international businesses. The IB degree program has a long tradition in joint projects with SAMK’s partner universities in Germany (Hochschule Ludwigshafen) and the US (College of Charleston).
At the end of the studies, the student demonstrates his or her ability to apply their knowledge and skills in practical expert duties related to the professional studies, by delivering a bachelor’s thesis.
The IB program will prepare you to work on a broad scale of tasks in the international business environment. You will be able to handle all necessary operations along the supply chain from raw material supplier to the final consumer.
After graduating you can work for example as marketing and purchasing manager, import and export assistant or controller in an international business.
