SeAMK has a modern, well-equipped campus within a walking distance from the city center and train station. Up-to-date student housing facilities are also located on campus. Traffic connections to Seinäjoki are excellent with frequent train services to Helsinki, the capital with the international airport, which can be reached in less than three hours. Seinäjoki provides a clean and safe living environment but at the same time lots of facilities for extracurricular and free-time activities and different sports. Seinäjoki is also well-known for its numerous music festivals and events.

SeAMK has passed the Quality Audit by the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre, FINEEC. Moreover, the Ministry of Education and Culture closely oversees the quality of teaching in all higher education institutions in Finland, including Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences.
SeAMK calculates the academic workload by ECTS credits. The average amount of ECTS credits for one academic year is 60 credits, which translates to approx. 1600 hours of work. One semester of workload generally translates to 30 ECTS credits.

- 3.5 years = 210 ECTS
- Bachelor of Engineering in Automation Engineering
- 4 years = 240ECTS
The application process is fast and simple. Students are pre-screened on a first come, first served basis which means that if you meet the admission requirements, you are forwarded to the university and invited to the online exam and/or interview. You can get your acceptance in 3-4 weeks.

The admission requirements are:
- High school diploma / Higher Secondary Education
- Transcript of records (if possible)
- Proof of English language: from IELTS 5.0, TOEFL IBT 35-45, Duolingo 75-80, or equivalent
- Copy of passport ID page

The students are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
New admission criteria for the next intake will be announced later. The following criteria are related to the previous intake.
Make sure you have all the following documents ready when you fill out the application form.
Applicants who have completed a qualification outside Finland must submit the following documents to Edunation:
- Copy of the final/official higher secondary school certificate or vocational qualification which gives eligibility for higher education studies in your own country OR statement of graduation from the educational institution
- Transcript of records with a GPA 50% or above. This is required to be able to apply through Edunation.
- Translations of the documents in Finnish, Swedish or English, if the original document is in none of those languages. The translations need to be signed and stamped by an authorized translator.

Proof of nationality
- Copy of passport ID page OR official ID card indicating nationality
Note: You will need a valid passport when you apply for a visa or residence permit.
A certificate of language test is not required, but you must demonstrate your language skills during the admission process.
English language proficiency must be at level B2 in the common European Framework of Reference for Languages, equal to, for example, IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT: 46.
When applying, you should indicate you have understood the language requirements and that your language skills are at the required level. If you show an English test result that puts you under the required level, your application won’t be processed.
There are four ways to be admitted:
- Pathway to Finland OR
- Online exam and interview OR
- Papers-based admission and interview OR
- SAT test results and interview
Another way to apply to SeAMK’s programs is through an online entrance exam and interview.
Online entrance exam consists of three phases:
- written examination
- essay (only for International Business)
- video assignment(s)
The aim of the exam is to test mathematical and logical skills, as well as English language proficiency. There is no pre-reading material for the examination.
Entrance examinations are arranged every two weeks. When you are invited to the exam, be prepared to have access to a computer with a webcam and internet connection.
Applicants who pass the written part of the online exam will be invited to an online interview within a few days after the written examination.

Indian applicants with the following grades don’t need to participate the entrance exam, and they are invited directly to the interview:
- All India Senior School Certificate issued by CBSE:
- GPA 60% or above
- English grade 70% or above
- Indian Secondary Certificate (ISC) issued by CISCE:
- GPA 60% or above
- English 70% or above
- Higher School Certificate issued by a state board in India:
- GPA 50% or above
- English 75% or above
Finally, the last way to apply to SeAMK’s programs is through SAT. If you pass the SAT assessment, you will be invited for an online interview.
Minimum scores for SAT test are:
- Evidence-based reading and writing (min. 500 p.)
- Math (min. 500 p.)
SAT tests completed after March 2016 are accepted. The results must be sent from the test organizer to SeAMK. The code is 7524. The results of the SAT test must be delivered by 10 February 2021.
Tuition Fees & Scholarship
Non-EU/EEA students are required to pay a tuition fee of 7 000 € per academic year for the bachelor’s degree program.
At SeAMK all first-year degree students, who are required to pay a tuition fee, will be automatically granted a scholarship, which covers 30% of the tuition fee. This means you will only need to pay 70% of the first year’s tuition fee.
To be eligible for a scholarship after the first academic year, you must complete a minimum of 60 credits during the previous academic year in a bachelor’s degree program. The amount of the scholarship after the first academic year 30% of the tuition fee.
SeAMK offers also a one-off scholarship of 1000 euro if you achieve B1 CEFR level in Finnish language.
