Bachelors of Health Care (Nursing)

The objectives of the Bachelor of Health Care (Nursing) program at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences are to:

1. Equip students with comprehensive nursing knowledge and advanced clinical skills.
2. Prepare competent and qualified Registered Nurses (RNs).
3. Promote health and prevent illness in diverse populations.
4. Enhance evidence-based practice and decision-making.
5. Develop multicultural competence and provide culturally sensitive care.
6. Instill ethical principles and professionalism in nursing.
7. Advance skills in e-health and modern healthcare technology.
8. Foster effective teamwork in multiprofessional environments.
9. Ensure proficiency in English and Finnish for professional practice.
10. Provide diverse practical training opportunities in Finland and abroad.

The program structure includes:

• Components:
  • Theoretical tuition
  • Laboratory skills
  • Simulation
  • Supervised practical training (75-90 ECTS practical training)
• Training Locations: Practical training takes place in South Ostrobothnia, Finland, and can also be conducted abroad.

• Language: Taught mainly in English, but basic Finnish skills are required (level A2). Students will acquire the level A2 through the Pathway to Finland program, throughout their studies at Seinäjoki UAS, they will develop their Finnish Language skills even more!

Graduates of the program have excellent employment opportunities in the health care sector both in Finland and internationally. In Finland, Registered Nurses can work in:

• Health centres

• Home care
• Rehabilitation centres
• Public and private sectors
• Voluntary sector
• As entrepreneurs

The ongoing Social and Health Care Reform in Finland enhances the demand for skills in multiprofessional working contexts, further increasing the employability of graduates

Some vaccinations may be required, but depending on the work placements, you may be required to take additional vaccinations (this can be done at your own cost in Finland).

Our Edunation Pathway Diploma program offers guaranteed access to SEAMK’s Bachelor’s of Health Care (Nursing). The admission requirements are:

• Final certificate of completed upper secondary education. Official English translation (if the original is not in English), signed and stamped by an authorized translator
• Transcript of records
• Proof of English language: IELTS Academic 6.0, TOEFL iBT 60, PTE Academic 55, (Duolingo not accepted)
• Copy of passport ID page
