Educational background

The applicant is eligible to apply if he/she has completed a qualification outside Finland that provides eligibility for higher education studies in the awarding country or with a non-Finnish higher education degree.

Applicants must submit the following documents to Edunation:

• Copy of the final/official higher secondary school certificate or vocational qualification
• Transcript of records

Note: Original certificates must be shown when arriving in Finland.

Proof of nationality

• Copy of passport ID page OR official ID card indicating nationality

Note: All documents need to be translated to English, Swedish or Finnish if the original document is in none of those languages. The translations need to be signed and stamped by an authorized translator.

2. SAT test

If you have already taken the SAT test before the application period, you can apply with SAT test scores.

• Only the new version of SAT test (completed after March 2016) is accepted.
• SAT Subject Tests are not accepted.
• An official SAT score report must be ordered straight from the test organiser to be delivered to Turku University of Applied Sciences. The code for Turku University of Applied Sciences is 6867. 
• Reports printed or sent by the applicants themselves are not accepted.

1. 1. Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (lowest point limit 400)
      – Reading Test
      – Writing and Language Test
   2. Math (lowest point limit 400)

• The official SAT score report must be ordered directly from the test organizer. Reports printed or sent by the applicant him/herself are not acceptable.
• The code for Turku UAS is 6867.
• Results must be available in SAT database by 30 October 2023.

2. Certificate-based selection (India, Vietnam, China) + language certificate

You can be accepted in certificate-based selection only if you have one of the below-mentioned degree certificates fulfilling the minimum requirements and one of the required language certificates.

1. All India Senior School Certificate (AISSC) from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or Indian School Certificate (ISC) from Council for the Indian School Certificate (CISCE) with the minimum requirements:
   • GPA 70 % or higher
   • English 70 % or higher
   • Mathematics 70 % or higher
2. Vietnamese High School Graduation Diploma with the minimum requirements:
   • GPA 7.0 or higher
   • English 9.0 or higher
   • Mathematics 8.0 or higher
3. Chinese General High School Diploma with the minimum requirements:
   • English 80% or higher
   • Mathematics 80 % or higher

Language Certificate

• IELTS Academic: a minimum total score of 6.0 (with no individual section below 5.5)
• TOEFL Academic (iBT): a minimum total score of 78 (with no individual section below 17)
• PTE Academic: a minimum total score of 50 (with no communicative skills score below 42)
• Cambridge English Qualification
  • C1 Advanced, a minimum total score of 169
  • C2 Proficiency, a minimum total score of 169
• A degree completed in English at an institution of a higher level of education in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom or the U.S.A.
• A degree completed in English on the upper secondary level of education in an Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom or the U.S.A.

The language certificate is required if the applicant applying via certificate-based selection with one of above-mentioned certificates. If the applicant doesn’t have any of those certificates, they don’t need to submit a language test result.

3. Online Interview

The invitations to the online interviews will sent by email to the applicants 1 week before the interview day at the latest.

If there are study places left after the SAT and certificate-based selection, a limited number of applicants will be invited to an online interview. The selection for the online interview is made by automatic lottery.

PROOF OF ENGLISH SKILLS AND ONLINE INTERVIEW

It is not required to have an English language certificate, but we expect you to have an English level of minimum B2 on the CEFR scale. Your English level skills will be assessed through an online interview.
