Double degree program in Information and Communications Technology

The double bachelor’s degree program in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is a great opportunity to experience studies in Finland and in Uzbekistan.

The double degree will be provided by Tashkent State University of Economics (TSUE) and Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS).

The duration of the studies is 4 years: the 1st year will be conducted at TSUE, and the rest of the academic years will be provided at TUAS in Salo, Finland.

After completing your studies, you will receive:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and Technologies from TSUE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Communications (ICT) or Bachelor of Business Administration  from TUAS

STUDY PROGRAMS

Through Edunation, you can apply for the Bachelor’s degree program in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and the Double Degree program in Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

ICT programs deal with technologies, methods, and tools such as software applications, data networks and cyber-security, games, and hi-tech electronic devices and systems. A graduate from the ICT program has wide and practically-oriented fundamental knowledge and skills.

 

 

Turku UAS calculates the academic workload by ECTS credits. The average amount of ECTS credits for one academic year is 60 credits, which translates to approx. 1600 hours of work. One semester of workload generally translates to 30 ECTS credits.

    • 4 years = 240 ECTS

Admission criteria

Edunation’s application process is fast and simple! The students are checked on a first-come, first-served basis which means that if you meet the minimum criteria, you will be notified about your eligibility within 1 week from Edunation! After that, the university will make the final decision about your admission to the program within 1 month.

Educational background

The applicant is eligible to apply if he/she has completed a qualification outside Finland that provides eligibility for higher education studies in the awarding country or with a non-Finnish higher education degree.

Applicants must submit the following documents to Edunation:

  • Copy of the final/official higher secondary school certificate or vocational qualification
  • Transcript of records (with overall GPA of 50% or above)

Note: Original certificates must be shown when arriving in Finland.

Proof of nationality

  • Copy of passport ID page OR official ID card indicating nationality

Note: All documents need to be translated to English, Swedish or Finnish if the original document is in none of those languages. The translations need to be signed and stamped by an authorized translator.

Selection method

The selection is based on an online interview or SAT test.

1. Online interview

If the applicant meets all the admission requirements of TUAS, the university will invite the applicant by email. Interviews will be organized in March.

2. SAT test

If you have already taken the SAT test before Edunation application period, you can apply with SAT test scores.

  • Only the new version of SAT test (completed after March 2016) is accepted.
  • SAT Subject Tests are not accepted.
  • An official SAT score report must be ordered straight from the test organizer to be delivered to Turku University of Applied Sciences. The code for Turku University of Applied Sciences is 6867. 
  • Reports printed or sent by the applicants themselves are not accepted.
  • The SAT score report must be delivered to Turku University of Applied Sciences by 5 April 2021 at the latest.

Sections used for selection process:

  1. Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (lowest point limit 400)
    – Reading Test
    – Writing and Language Test
  2. Math (lowest point limit 500)

It is not required to have an English language certificate, but we expect you to have an English level of minimum B2 on the CEFR scale. Your English level skills will be assessed through an online interview.

Tuition Fees & Scholarship

Tuition Fees

The tuition fee for ICT is 11 500 EUR per academic year for non-EU/EEA students.

Scholarships

Students who start their studies in 2021 or later: Students can apply for a scholarship after the 1st academic year. TUAS grants scholarships based on Finnish language skills. The amount of the scholarship based on the YKI certificate in the Finnish language is EUR 4 000 when the student has paid EUR 11 500 tuition fee for the previous academic year. The scholarship can be granted only once per academic year.
