Turku University of Applied Sciences offers a Bachelor’s degree programme in Early Childhood Education and Care as a unique combination of online and offline studies. This is the most flexible and affordable way for you to earn a Bachelor’s degree from Finland!
During the studies, you will learn about upbringing, education and care. You will gain a deep understanding of how to support children’s overall wellbeing and growth. After the studies, you will be qualified to work with children and families in various settings within the field of Early Childhood Education and Care.

Applicants who have completed a qualification outside Finland must submit the following documents to Edunation:
- Copy of the final/official higher secondary school certificate or vocational qualification which gives eligibility for higher education studies in your own country
- Transcript of records
Note: Original certificates must be shown when arriving in Finland.
Proof of nationality
- Copy of passport ID page OR official ID card indicating nationality
Note: All documents need to be translated to English, Swedish or Finnish if the original document is in none of those languages. The translations need to be signed and stamped by an authorized translator.
During your studies you will learn the principles of the Finnish Early Childhood Education and Care. The program provides you with unique opportunities to learn more about children and families, and gain practical work experience.
Studies at TUAS are working life oriented, combining theoretical studies with professional skills. At the core of their teaching is Innovation Pedagogy, a new approach to learning developed at TUAS. The Bachelor’s degree programme in Early Childhood Education consists of the following elements:
- Pathway studies in Early Childhood Education and Care (30 ECTS)
- Fun Learning Educator program (30 ECTS)
- Degree studies (150 ECTS)
Graduates from the program work in various jobs in the field of early childhood education and care. In the public sector in Finland, there is a high demand for early childhood education professionals.
The Finnish educational expertise is recognized globally, and having graduated from TUAS will provide you with good chances to find employment outside of Finland as well. With a Bachelor’s degree, you will also be qualified to apply for further studies.
