Overview

Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (VAMK) is an international university of applied sciences with over 3,300 students. The university offers two full-time degree programs in English: Information Technology and International Business.

VAMK focuses on energy-efficient technology and business expertise in the export industry. The university works closely with other universities in the region as well as the regional technology center. The co-operation enables students to take part in projects with the local industry during the studies.

Studies include practical training. This will provide the students authentic work-related experience and to drive deeper into the field of studies. Students are also able to grow their professional skills and build a strong theoretical base during their studies in VAMK.

VAMK is located in Vaasa which is known as the northern energy capital and the most innovative region in Finland. The university works closely with the region’s universities and the regional technology center.       • 3.5 years = 210 ECTS

      • 4 years = 240 ECTS

Admission criteria

You can apply to Vaasa University of Applied Sciences trough the Pathway to Finland program. This is a preparatory program that will help you gain admission to bachelor’s degree studies in Finland. You will get a guaranteed entry to a degree program upon completion. No entrance exams and interviews required.

Tuition Fees & Scholarship

Tuition Fees

Students who are from non-EU/EEA countries and start their studies after January 2023 are required to pay a fee of 8000 € per academic year for bachelor’s degrees in English.

The tuition fee for the academic year must be paid at the time of confirming the study place. The fee must be paid at once and cannot be paid in installments. Study right will be cancelled if tuition fee is not paid until deadline.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for fee paying degree students at Vaasa University of Applied Sciences. 

Scholarship Criteria

  • The full scholarship in bachelor degree programs is 3500 euros.
  • Bachelors degrees: Scholarship is paid after each academic year on the basis of student’s application and academic performance. Student must complete the required amount of credits per academic year (55 ECTS). The final scholarship is paid in connection of the graduation, taking into account the normative duration of studies.
  • Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (VAMK) reserves a right to evaluate criteria for the scholarships and payment on a yearly basis, yet so that the criteria is fixed upon the year of entry.

Scholarship Based on Finnish Language Proficiency (YKI)

  • Scholarship of 1000€ is available for students who demonstrate their Finnish language skills by completing National Certificate of Language Proficiency test (YKI) on level 3-4 or higher
  • Scholarship based on Finnish language proficiency is single payment and therefore can only be granted to student once during study right.
  • Student is responsible for YKI test fee and any other costs incurred.
