Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK), located in Seinäjoki, celebrates cultural diversity boasting over 200 partner universities internationally. Research and development (RDI) at SeAMK is also internationally oriented to intensify the cooperation with professional personnel from all over the world.

SeAMK has already had 25 international projects centering around educational and research development. While most of the projects are conducted in Europe, the university has projects in Asia, Africa and America as well. During an academic year, approximately 150 teachers from partner universities come to SeAMK to teach and network with SeAMK’s staff and students.

Thanks to the wide partner and employer network, SeAMK students have plenty of opportunities in the fields of international trade, marketing, sales, customer relations, product and project management or they can earn a double degree from two universities.

The number of academic and other staff members is 350. There are 4900 full-time students from 21 degrees, and out of those 500 students are from abroad.

Through Edunation, Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences offers a bachelor’s degree program in International business. At Seamk, IB program focuses on entrepreneurship and small to medium-sized business marketing: how to plan, make and run a business successfully in an international environment. The degree allows students to work with different cultures and learn optional languages to develop necessary skills for the future.

    SeAMK calculates the academic workload by ECTS credits. The average amount of ECTS credits for one academic year is 60 credits, which translates to approx. 1600 hours of work. One semester of workload generally translates to 30 ECTS credits.

  • Tuition fee

    Non-EU/EEA students are required to pay a tuition fee of 6,800 € per academic year for bachelor’s degree programs.

  • Scholarship

    To be eligible for a scholarship after the first academic year, the degree student must accrue a minimum of 55 credits during the previous academic year in a bachelor’s degree program.

    The amount of the scholarship after the first academic year is 50 % of the annual tuition fee.

The application process is fast and simple. Students are accepted on a first come, first served basis which means that if you meet the admission requirements, you can get your acceptance in 4 weeks.

    Make you sure you have all the following documents ready when you fill out the application form.

    Educational background

    Applicants who have completed a qualification outside Finland must submit the following documents to Edunation:

    • Copy of the final/official secondary school certificate or vocational qualification which gives eligibility for higher education studies in your own country

    Note: Original copies must be shown when arriving in Finland.

    Proof of nationality

    • Copy of passport ID page

    Language requirements

    You will need to take one of the following tests of English:

    • IELTS: 5.5
    • TOEFL iBT: 46
    • TOEFL pBT: 520
    • TOEFL cBT: 192
    • PTE academic:43
    • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): C1
    • Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE): C

     

    Language skills can also be demonstrated in interview.

    The language certificate must be valid during the application period. The Pearson test of English, IELTS and TOEFL certificates are valid for two years. There are no limitations on the period of validity of the other certificates. A TOEFL test score will only be accepted if it has been directly submitted from the TOEFL Educational Testing Service (ETS). Edunation’s TOEFL code is C046.

    Note: All documents need to be translated to English, if the original document is not in English. The translations need to be signed and stamped by an authorized translator.

  • Application instructions

    Read all the information below and follow the steps carefully.

    • Choose a university a degree program you would like to apply for at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences
    • Fill out the online application form found on Edunation’s website
    • Attach the required documents
    • Pay the 100€ Edunation application fee
    • Apply for a residence permit, once you have received your acceptance letter and paid the first year’s tuition fee

    If you fulfill the admission requirements, you will receive an acceptance from the university within 4 weeks from submitting your application. Only then can you start your residence permit application process.

    You will also be notified by email if you do not get accepted.
