Before, the application process for Finnish universities used to be much more complicated and time-consuming. Thus, Edunation decided to come up with a much easier system. In a nutshell, all you have to do is follow these 3 simple steps:

  • Fill in the online application form
  • Submit all the required documents
  • Apply for a visa/residence permit

The whole application process is fast and flexible. After you have received your acceptance letter and visa/residence permit, you will begin your studies at a Finnish university, which offers one of the best educations in the world.

  • Eligibility

To be eligible to apply through Edunation, you will need to show proof of your previous education (e.g. high school diploma, bachelor degree etc.), proof of your English language proficiency by means of a standardized test (e.g. TOELF, IELTS etc.) and your nationality. A language test will not be required if English was the language of instruction in your secondary level education institution (high school) or your Bachelor’s degree has been done fully in English. If this is the case, you need to have proof of it in written form, signed by the prior institution.

Furthermore, all applicants are required to have an average or above average GPA (grade point average) according to the grading system used in the applicants home institution.

The full extent of the required documents also depends on the university and/or the degree you are applying for. Thus, please check each university page individually to get more specific information about the required documents.

  • Process

After choosing the university and the degree you want to apply for, you will need to fill out an online application form, where you need to submit the following information:

    • Chosen university and degree program
    • Personal data and contact information
    • Eligibility information (prior education, GPA, etc.)

Additionally, you will need to attach the following documents to the online application form:

    • Copy of passport
    • Certified copy of prior education transcript
    • Proof of English language proficiency
    • Any additional required documented that the university requested

If you fulfill the minimal requirements set by the university, receive an acceptance letter in 2-4 weeks. Only then can you start your visa or residence permit application process. Read more about the process.

You will also be notified by email if you don’t get accepted.
