Modern financial management requires more and more knowledge about the tools and techniques of business analytics. A combination of strategic finance and business analytics is required to meet the needs of forward-going businesses wanting to make fact-based decisions in a competitive business landscape.
In this Master’s Program you will study the disciplines of strategic finance and business analytics. You will acquire interesting and relevant skills enabling you to work in an international business environment in various management positions.

After completing the program, you will be familiar with main theories and concepts of finance and international financial markets. You will be able to:
- describe and examine the main theories and concepts of finance and international financial markets
- understand the supporting role of information technology in business and decision-making and evaluate possibilities
- understand the use of information technology in business development and transformation
- demonstrate analytical financial and business skills in practice
- conduct an independent scientific research project, report and present it professionally
The program includes core and specialization studies in finance, minor studies in business analytics, and language studies.
Core studies (54 ECTS credits) include courses on strategic and corporate finance topics including financial management, banking and insurance finance, financial theory and valuation, and financial econometrics.
Specialization studies (36 ECTS credits) include a special course on real options and managerial decision-making and the Master’s thesis.
Minor studies (25 ECTS credits) include studies on business analytics based on modern tools and hands-on practice on using the tools in real-world business problems.
Language studies, 5 ECTS credits.
The Master’s thesis and seminar, 30 ECTS credits, is a part of specialization studies. The thesis is a research project, which requires approximately six months of full-time work. It is completed during the fourth semester of the degree program.
Double degree studies for students from the partner university
Students from the partner university are able to study as a double degree student at LUT.
MSF’s double degree partner university is Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Russia.
Students admitted to the double degree program receive a degree certificate from two universities after they have fulfilled the degree requirements of both universities.
