LUT University is a pioneering science university in Lappeenranta. It has been bringing together the fields of science and business since 1969. The university has traditionally had strong links to the business community. This earned it the title of Best University in Business Technology Cooperation in Finland, granted by the Finnish business journal Talouselämä. LUT has passed the Quality Audit by the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre, FINEEC. In addition, the Ministry of Education and Culture closely oversees the quality of teaching in all higher education institutions in Finland, including LUT.

LUT University

Through Edunation, you can apply for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in the field of technology that are organized by Edunation and teaching is provided by LUT University. You can also apply to other degree programs that are offered by LUT University if you have taken GMAT or GRE test(s).

LUT also offers summer schools and winter schools. The courses are in the fields of business and technology that will enrich your knowledge. The programs are not only about academic studies, but also about acquiring a deeper understanding of Finnish society and culture with a range of social activities.


Tuition fees

Students who are from a non-EU/EEA country are required to pay a tuition fee of 10 500 € per academic year for bachelor’s degree programs and 11 000 € per academic year for master’s degree programs through Edunation.



There are no scholarships available in Edunation programs.

Apply for master’s degree programs

The application process is fast and simple. The students are accepted on a first come, first served basis which means that if you meet the minimum criteria, you can get your acceptance within a month.

  • Admission requirements for bachelor's degree

    Admission requirements for the bachelor’s programs will be announced in October 2019.

  • Admission requirements for master's degree

    Make you sure you have all the following documents ready when you fill out the application form.

    Educational background

    Applicants who have completed a qualification outside Finland must submit the following documents to Edunation:

    • Bachelor’s degree certificate from a related field (technology) with at least 24 ECTS credits in the field of your chosen master’s program
    • Transcript of Records

    Copies for the educational documents have to be officially certified. Whenever the degree has been completed in a certain country, there may be country-specific requirements for document certification involved.

    Proof of nationality

    • Passport ID page OR official ID card indicating nationality

    Note: You will need a valid passport when you apply for a visa or residence permit.

    Language requirements

    A proof of English proficiency is required for all degrees at LUT University. You will need to take at least one of these tests with the following scores:

    • IELTS: 6.0
    • TOEFL iBT: 80
    • TOEFL pBT: 550
    • TOEFL cBT: 213
    • Revised TOEFL Paper-delivered Test: 60
    • PTE academic: 54
    • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): C

    The language certificate must be valid during the application period. The Pearson test of English, IELTS and TOEFL certificates are valid for two years. There are no limitations on the period of validity of the other certificates. A TOEFL test score will only be accepted if it has been directly submitted from the TOEFL Educational Testing Service (ETS). Edunation’s TOEFL code is C046.

    Language test is not required if bachelor’s degree has been completed in English in an EU/EEA country, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA.

  • Admission requirements for summer school
    • Bachelor’s and master’s students in the fields of technology and business. For detailed admission requirements, please check the course descriptions.
    • Fluency in English. All courses are taught in English, and good English language skills are needed to follow lectures. No tests are required.
    • Make sure you meet course prerequisites.
