Metropolia offers both bachelor’s and master’s level programs, many of which are taught in English. So far 16 500 students have enrolled to various programs to study Health Care, Social Services, Business, Culture, and Technology in Finland. With 900 foreign degree students representing nearly 90 nationalities, Metropolia is very international in terms of versatile student population and study environment.

Every prospective student, regardless of their academic level, is warmly welcomed to study at Metropolia. Which is why the university has an extensive set of program offering long-term studies (degree studies) as well as short-term studies (summer school, exchange).

By the year 2019, Metropolia aims to combine some of the universities’ facilities for better student experiences and working efficiency. In addition, the university has obtained an official quality label issued by FINEEC (The Finnish Education Evaluation Centre). The Ministry of Education and Culture in Finland closely oversees the quality of teaching in Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

Tuition fees

Bachelor’s Degrees

  • 10 000 € per academic year for the following degrees:
    • Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and Logistics
    • Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology
  • 12 000 € per academic year for Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics

Master’s Degrees

  • 11 000 € per academic year for the following degrees:
    • Master of Business Administration in Business Informatics
    • Master of Engineering in Business Informatics
    • Master of Engineering in Industrial Management
    • Master of Engineering in Information Technology
  • 12 000 € per academic year for the following degrees:
    • Master of Business Administration in Health Business Management
    • Master of Engineering in Health Business Management
    • Master of Social Services and Health care in Health Business Management

As per our Terms and Conditions, the paid tuition fee is refunded only in the case that the residence permit decision is negative or if the university is unable to organise the program.

The application process through Edunation is fast and simple. Students are accepted on a first come, first served basis which means that if you meet the admission requirements, you can get your acceptance in two weeks.

  • Admission requirements for bachelor's degrees

    Make you sure you have all the following documents ready when you fill out the application form.

    Educational background

    Applicants who have completed a qualification outside Finland must submit the following documents to Edunation:

    • Copy of the final/official  higher secondary school certificate or vocational qualification which gives eligibility for higher education studies in your own country
    • Transcript of records (with a minimum GPA of around 60%)
    • Grading scale in English

    Note: Original documents must be shown when you arrive in Finland.

    Proof of nationality

    • Copy of passport ID page OR official ID card indicating nationality

    Language requirements

    In order to be eligible, you will need to submit IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 46 or equivalent.

    English language test is not required if your secondary education has been completed in English in a country where English is an official language (USA, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, India, Philippines, etc.).

    Motivation letter

    For the degree program in International Business and Logistics, you are also required to submit a motivation letter. The letter should be around one page long. Tell about yourself, your background, why you want to study in this program and what do you want to do after you graduate.

    SAT

    You can also apply with an SAT Test score with a minimum of 500 points in Evidence-based Reading and Writing and 500 points in Math.

    If you submit your SAT Test score, your GPA doesn’t need to be 60% and you don’t need to submit an English language test.

     

    Note: All documents need to be translated to English, Finnish or Swedish, if the original document is in none those languages. The translations need to be signed and stamped by an authorized translator.

    Work experience

    • Employment certificate with a minimum of 3 years work experience after bachelor’s degree

     

    Note: All documents need to be translated to English, Finnish or Swedish, if the original document is in none of those languages. The translations need to be signed and stamped by an authorized translator.

  • Application instructions

    Read all the information below and follow the steps carefully.

    • Choose a degree program you would like to apply for at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences
    • Fill out the online application form found at apply.edunation.co
    • Attach the required documents
    • Apply for a residence permit, once you have received your acceptance letter and paid the first year’s tuition fee

    If you fulfill the admission requirements, you will receive an acceptance within two weeks from submitting your application. Only then can you start your residence permit application process.

    You will also be notified by email if you do not get accepted.
