Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK) is located in Seinäjoki and offers programs in several different fields. There are 4900 full-time students, out of which 500 are from abroad. In addition, SeAMK celebrates cultural diversity boasting over 200 partner universities internationally. Research and development (RDI) at SeAMK is also internationally oriented to intensify the cooperation with professional personnel from all over the world.

SeAMK has already had 25 international projects centering around educational and research development. While most of the projects are conducted in Europe, the university has projects in Asia, Africa and America as well. During an academic year, approximately 150 teachers from partner universities come to SeAMK to teach and network with SeAMK’s staff and students.

Thanks to the wide partner and employer network, SeAMK students have plenty of opportunities in the fields of international trade, marketing, sales, customer relations, product and project management or they can earn a double degree from two universities.

SeAMK has passed the Quality Audit by the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre, FINEEC. Moreover, the Ministry of Education and Culture closely oversees the quality of teaching in all higher education institutions in Finland, including Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences.

    SeAMK calculates the academic workload by ECTS credits. The average amount of ECTS credits for one academic year is 60 credits, which translates to approx. 1600 hours of work. One semester of workload generally translates to 30 ECTS credits.

  • Tuition fee

    Non-EU/EEA students are required to pay a tuition fee of 6800 € per academic year for bachelor’s degree programs.

  • Scholarship

    To be eligible for a scholarship after the first academic year, you must complete a minimum of 55 credits during the previous academic year in a bachelor’s degree program.

    The amount of the scholarship after the first academic year is 50 % of the annual tuition fee.

The application process is fast and simple. Students are accepted on a first come, first served basis which means that if you meet the admission requirements, you can get your acceptance in 4 weeks.

  • Required documents

    Make you sure you have all the following documents ready when you fill out the application form.

    Educational background

    Applicants who have completed a qualification outside Finland must submit the following documents to Edunation:

    • Copy of the final/official secondary school certificate or vocational qualification which gives eligibility for higher education studies in your own country

    Note: Original copies must be shown when arriving in Finland.

    Proof of nationality

    • Copy of passport ID page

    Language requirements

    Certificate of language test is not required, but you must demonstrate your language skills in an interview.

    English language proficiency must be at level B2 in the common European Framework of Reference for Languages, equal to, for example IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT: 46.

    When applying, you should indicate you have understood the language requirements and that your language skills are at the required level.

     

    Note: All documents need to be translated to English, if the original document is not in English. The translations need to be signed and stamped by an authorized translator.

  • Application instructions

    Read all the information below and follow the steps carefully.

    • Choose a a degree program you would like to apply for at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences
    • Fill out the online application form found on Edunation’s website
    • Attach the required documents
    • Take part in an online interview
    • Apply for a residence permit, once you have received your acceptance letter and paid the first year’s tuition fee

    If you fulfill the admission requirements, you will receive an acceptance from the university within 4 weeks from submitting your application. Only then can you start your residence permit application process.

    You will also be notified by email if you do not get accepted.
