Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) is one of the largest and most popular universities of applied sciences in Finland. It is situated in the vibrant city of Tampere which has a lively and versatile student scene. Through Edunation, you can apply for one degree program at TAMK, the bachelor’s program in Nursing. This program is available only through Edunation. Other TAMK’s degree programs can be found on TAMK’s website.

TAMK is an international university of applied sciences which focuses on promoting health and wellbeing, business and technology together with learning and creativity. There are altogether over 13 000 students studying at TAMK, with around 10 000 degree students enrolled in over 40 degree programs. TAMK also has a lively international student community and hundreds of international and exchange students study there every year.

This bachelor’s degree program in Nursing is available only through Edunation, and the teaching is provided by Tampere University of Applied Sciences in Tampere, Finland.

  • Credits

    TAMK calculates the academic workload by ECTS credits. The average amount of ECTS credits for one academic year is 60 credits, which translates to approx. 1600 hours of work. One semester of workload generally translates to 30 ECTS credits.

      • 3.5 years = 210 ECTS 

Tuition fees

Students are required to pay a program fee of 10 500 € / year for the bachelor’s program in Nursing.

As per our Terms and Conditions, the paid program fee is refunded only in the case that the residence permit decision is negative or if the university is unable to organize the program.

The application process for the Edunation bachelor’s program in Nursing is straightforward. Applicants submit their application with the required documents at Edunation’s application portal. If the requirements are met, the applicant is invited to an entrance exam. The entrance exam is held in January 2020, the exact date and place will be announced later for the eligible applicants. All applicants that pass the entrance exam are accepted to study in the program.

Please note that the program is a specially tailored program for Edunation. Because of this reason the application process is different than the one TAMK uses for its other programs.

    Make you sure you have all the following documents ready when you fill out the application form.

    Educational background

    Applicants who have completed a qualification outside Finland must submit the following documents to Edunation:

    • Copy of the final/official higher secondary school certificate or vocational qualification which gives eligibility for higher education studies in your own country
    • Transcript of records
      • overall GPA 50% or above
      • grade in math

    Note: Original copies must be shown when arriving in Finland.

    Proof of nationality

    • Copy of passport ID page OR official ID card indicating nationality

    Language requirements

    In addition, you are also required to submit one of the following certificates of English language:

    • IELTS: 5.5
    • TOEFL iBT: 46
    • TOEFL pBT: 520
    • TOEFL cBT: 192
    • PTE academic: 43
    • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): C

    OR

    • Higher secondary school English grade of 50% or above

    Note: All documents need to be translated to English, Swedish or Finnish if the original document is in none of those languages. The translations need to be signed and stamped by an authorized translator.

    Entrance exam

    Applicants that meet the minimum requirements will be invited for an entrance exam organized in Vietnam and New Delhi, India in January 2020 (exact dates and places to be announced later).

    The exam consists of a written a written part and an interview. The written part measures your math and English language skills and the interview measures your motivation and spoken English.

    • Check the admission requirements for the program you are applying for
    • Fill out the online application form found on Edunation’s application portal
    • Attach the required documents
    • If you meet the requirements you will be invited for an entrance exam held in January
    • If you pass the exam, you will be accepted to the program
    • Apply for a residence permit, once you have received your acceptance letter and paid the first year’s program fee

    If you pass the entrance exam, you will receive an acceptance from the university within 3 weeks. Only then can you start your residence permit application process.

    You will also be notified by email if you do not get accepted.
